Low-Power Solar Charge Controllers
with Maximum Power Point Tracking
As the latest addition to Genasun's GV product line, the brings the power of Maximum Power Point Tracking to the smallest panels yet. With tiny self-consumption --- as low as 125 microamps --- these controllers ensure that MPPT is worthwhile.
Tracking the electrical maximum power point improves the performance of solar battery-charging systems by 10-30%. In partial-shade tests, we have seen gains as high as 56% from MPPT.
Like other GV controllers, these controllers connect between your solar panel and batteries like any charge controller, but sophisticated electronics allow the controller to operate the solar panel at its most efficient voltage, resulting in significant gains in power. You may also be interested in the GV-6 and GV-9, our standard products for 6-A and 9-A panels, our GVB boost trackers for higher battery voltages.
